What is this forum all about?

I think that you people may find it strange what this forum is all about, so let me explain it...

In 1996 Microprose released a game called "Grand Prix 2". It is a simulation about the 1994 F1 Season, you know - the one with the black weekend in Imola.

What is so special about this game? It was pretty much the first real race simulation in a time when Arcade games were very popular and it has a great mixture between realism and fun.

A short time after its release the first editors were programmed and released which brought modders to create other carsets for more F1 Seasons.

Its little complexity made it easy to create new carsets with brand new paintings etc. - to this day there are still some modders active and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is one of the most popular sites for that stuff.

And now in the year 2016 some BATracer players thought that they could start a new race series.. or something like that .. with Grand Prix 2. This forum is about our project and we welcome everybody to take part at it.

Why is every forum except this one only readable for registred members? I've made the experience that Spambots usually register and Spam the forum with their bullshit. By making every other forum invisible for guests I want to make sure that only the right people can see and answer to the stuff going on here.

I guess I have to ban them then. The forum uses a filter which recognize the most typical Spambots
